Hi, I'm Todd Peabody. I am an eye doctor from/for/at IU in Bloomington.
I am a faculty member and an eye doctor from/for/at IU in Bloomington.
Serving as an Examiner represents a valuable service to the profession. Professional licensing examinations are an important way for states to ensure that all health care practitioners who gain licensure to practice are competent as determined by exacting professional standards. By serving as an Examiner, Dr. Peabody participates in the important assessment process that is required for professional licensure.
The Accreditation Council on Optometric Education sends Dr. Todd Peabody and colleagues to various optometric residency sites to serve as evaluators with expertise in optometric education and practice to visit the program to assess its compliance with the ACOE's standards. They validate the site by interviewing students, faculty and administrators, reviewing records and files, and examining the facilities. Following the evaluation visit, the team writes a report of its findings that includes the team's findings relating the program's compliance with the ACOE standards. The report is forwarded to the program to review its factual accuracy before the finalized report is presented to the ACOE.
